For backup purposes.

Corporate History
Nox was created in 1999 and released sometime between late 1999 and early 2000. The Ladder was instantly successful and Westwood believed the game should also have a form of solo-campaign that people can play together. So later, the NoxQuest patch was released. This brought all the game versions to 1.2b.
For abour 2 years, everything was good. There were regular tournaments, and a defined list of top teir players. Prizes were awarded, and the community thrived.
Players would often leave for a couple months at a time and return to meet completely new people that were also pretty goo

Community History
The current community actually stems from the clan ladder community from the start of the game. Many of the solo ladder people quit as soon as the ladders went down. Why would they stay? They didn't make connections to anyone. But the clanners... where many of us consider the most fun part of the game to be held, stayed in various ways.

The communities stayed splintered for a long time. People stayed on the forums of their respective cliques and clans but eventually these boards dissolved. More players were lost. But still, some people persisted. Every now and then they would search Nox on Google and locate some random community. Maybe they stayed with them or decided they weren't enjoying Nox the same way and left. Either way, the number of Communities dwindled. Until there was a central community. Noxforum was created and admined by Zoaedk and Burn3r. The other english community was admined by Zeezo and Milo at postcount.com/nOx. The NoxForum community, based mostly from a hacker background was very pro modding and game editting while the Postcount community was more interested in remembering good times from the past.

This would likely still be the situation today if the webhost providing Zeezo with his forum didn't evaporate suddenly. But it did and the blow took that section of the community almost completely out. The ones that knew of Noxforum and didn't mind becoming regulars despite a difference of opinion joined the forum and still post. Now the only strong english community remaining is based out of Noxforum.
