does it have to do with fast switching items?
I don't know about "best" or combos, but here is little something.
Well, you start needing Greatswords and Warhammers to take down those Obelisks, since it takes forever to brake down an Obelisk with 600+HP with a Sword, which does around 40 damage per hit =D
I prefer using Swords of Confusion to minimize damage taken by Melee attackers.
But ranged ones...that's the tricky part.
Of course one idea is to run and stab them with the Confusion Sword before they know it, but what if they have the time to cast a Fireball at you first?
I think I should start dealing with Gargoyles and Imps by using the Charge (Shuriken might be a bit slow to those [and be careful with the Charge when you reflect those Imp's projectiles back to them with your Greatsword, so you wouldn't end up running towards a wall]), and another idea against Spellcasters would be Shurikens and WarCry. I'd also need to start drinking those Fire & Lightning Potions to reduce the damage taken from Lightning, Bolt and Fireball.
Or maybe you want to use the door-system on those Wizards and Leeches (running behind a door and when the bad guy comes through it, smash him with the Warhammer)?
The poison effect is tricky too, when you run out of Poison Potions.
And against bigger Melee groups? Warhammer of Force and Vampirism, perhaps? And keep an eye on your equipment, so you don't need to buy new ones.
And bring a shield with you against Mechanical & Stone Golems. It might be slow to take them down with smaller weapons than Greatswords, but better safe than sorry, right?
And it's not a shame to run away to a safer place if you get hammered too hard.
The problem just seems to be to find Wells which heal you back, if all goes wrong and you really end up with zero Health potions and 10% health left...
There is a video about playthrough with the Warrior, on Stage 100:

A likable, fine, polished line of few fancy words to make the day happy for someone.
